How many people really wash their hands after using the bathroom?

We all know we are supposed to wash our hands after using the bathroom.   Studies have shown that 80% of communicable diseases are spread by germs on the hands.  When asked, 97% of people say they wash their hands in the bathroom,  but how many really do?

Researchers have found that after using the bathroom,  10 percent don’t wash their hands at all, and 33 percent of people don’t use any soap!   Twenty percent of people say they do not dry their hands after washing them.

Of the people who don’t wash their hands,  15 percent are men and 7 percent are women.

Of school-age students, 89 percent state they do not wash their hands after using the bathroom!

What about food service workers?  Researchers have found that 39% of food handlers do not wash their hands after going to the bathroom and prior to returning to food preparation.
