Healthcare cost changes over the last 9 years:

Spending for family of four with co-pays and deductibles:  Increased 69%

Spending contribution for family of four for health insurance:  Increased 105%

Spending contribution for health plan from employer per employee:  Increased 62%

In 2008, 8 percent of a family’s income was spent on healthcare, now 12% of income spent for healthcare

Cost per each prescription filled in 2009 was $30, now each prescription fill is $44 on average

Cost of total drug spending 2009:  $354 billion, by 2016 increased to $457 billion total drug spending
