We’ve all heard that drinking water helps us lose weight. But is it really true?
A study was done to check this theory. The study found that if a patient drank 17 ounces of water, their metabolic rate increased by 30% for 30-40 minutes!
Another study found that in a group of overweight women, the women who drank a liter more of water a day lost 4.4 more pounds in a year.
In general, drinking one 8 ounce glass of ice water burns about 8 calories.
So drinking water really does help weight loss. But remember, everything in moderation. Drinking way too much water (or anything!) can cause problems.
