Japan has developed a new medicine that can effectively treat the flu virus in 24 hours!
Japan’s Health Ministry has said that they can begin selling the new medicine called “Xofluza” in May.
The current most popular medicine for the flu, Tamiflu, is taken over a 5 day course, and works by shortening the flu course by about 20 hours for the average patient. Xofluza will work three times faster than Tamiflu!
The new flu medicine will probably not be available in the United States until 2019. At this time, the cost of the new medicine is not known, and possible side effects of the medication have not been published.
