Middle Age Spread

From age 21 to 55, the average woman in the United States gains 28 pounds.

From age 21-55, the average man in the United States gains 21 pounds.

How does this affect their health?  Harvard University did a study to find out.

The researchers found that even a gain of just 10 pounds caused a 17% increased risk of  medical problems, such as Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and obesity-related cancers.  The patients who had weight gain with age had an increased mortality risk.
