Do you poop a normal amount?

What is a normal amount to poop?  Pooping from once every three days up to three times a day is considered normal.
Everyone is different, but in general each person should have 1 ounce of poop per 12 pounds of body weight a day.  The stool should be torpedo-shaped and soft.  If the stool becomes very skinny, it can be a sign of a serious problem such as colon cancer.  If the stool looks like rocks, it can indicate constipation and the need for more fiber and water in the diet.
What about color?  Color of stool can vary based on diet, but some things to watch for:
Red or black stool can mean gastrointestinal bleeding.
Green stool can mean inflammation of the bowel.
Yellow stool can mean gallbladder trouble.
White stool can mean liver disease or pancreas problems.
It’s important to keep an eye on your poop, as it can give you information about your health!
